Junior String Ensemble (JSE)

The Junior String Ensemble was formed in 1975 as a training group for string players aged up to 15 years. With 70 players aged from 9 to 15, the ensemble teaches members the skills of ensemble playing and orchestral discipline before they proceed to the other QYO orchestras. JSE performs works by contemporary composers and arrangements of popular music, in addition to standard classical orchestral repertoire often arranged by the conductor Chen Yang.
