Welcome to Queensland Youth Orchestras
QYO is a world class youth orchestra organisation based in Brisbane, capital of the “Sunshine State” of Queensland, Australia. QYO has 470 musicians in eight orchestras and ensembles.
Queensland Youth Symphony (QYS) is QYO’s leading orchestra, conducted by John Curro AM MBE. 100 exceptional musicians, aged 15 - 23 form this world renowned orchestra and perform in their own concert series at the QPAC Concert Hall. The five-concert 2012 series in Brisbane is complemented by QYS’s 12th International tour in June and July, to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Germany, Austria and France.
All other QYO orchestras and ensembles perform in the PPQ Concert at Twilight series at the Old Museum Concert Hall, and on tour through regional Queensland.
